Transition Towns

Bridport Green Fortnight 2018

14 – 28 April 2018

This year our theme will be Plastics, focusing on the wasted resources, land fill, reducing fossil fuels and the pollution of air and sea. This ties in with last year’s theme on buying local. Local food generally has less plastic packaging.

Some towns have gone ‘Plastic Free’ as a result of a campaign by Surfers against Sewage. However, this doesn’t mean that food is no longer served in plastic containers, and we felt the term might be misleading. Instead we are working on a directory of shops in Bridport which sell food without the plastic wrappers.

Are you concerned about the plastic in your life? Here are some suggestions of how to reduce your usage, from Joe Burlington and Elspeth Waldie – What to do about Plastic .
