The River Lim Action group was set up to monitor and clean up the River Lim after concerns were raised about pollution. It formed in 2021 and works constructively with South West Water, the Environment Agency, Dorset Council and Lyme Regis Town Council. The group, who are all volunteers, has also been working with these organisations to clean up the seafront drains and prevent pollution on our beaches. A clean river and beaches is good for our local ecology, community, businesses, tourism and reputation.

The RLA works under the umbrella of Turn Lyme Green and with the guidance of the Westcountry Rivers Trust, Dorset Wildlife Trust (for Riverfly monitoring) and Surfers Against Sewage. We’re grateful to Lyme Regis Town Council for funding some of our work.

Wessex Water covers the coastline to Charmouth and South West Water covers Lyme Regis and the river Lim. Plastic pollution and sewage pollution affect both.
