Recycle Sewing Group

Local volunteers in the Recycle Sewing Group meet weekly.  Sewing together is good company and fun. It is a real pleasure to work together to produce beautiful creations that are kind to the environment. We use donated fabric that has been lurking in cupboards or bound for landfill.

Boomerang Bags, which started in Australia, are a favourite and replace the use of single-use carrier bags. Independent shops and holiday accommodation in Lyme Regis supply them to their customers and the ‘Borrow and Bring Back’ logo means they can be returned to any participating venue.

Big Bags are sold and the proceeds contribute to Turn Lyme Green and the River Lim Action Group projects.

Draught excluders and hot water bottle covers are made to help keep people warm. They are distributed at the Seaside Store, the Foodbank, the Welcome Café and by Lyme Regis Energy Champions.
