A number of the River Lim Action group were given the opportunity to visit South West Water’s Gun Cliff pumping station under the Marine Theatre terrace. 

Behind those mysterious huge black studded doors lies a massive poo palace with a 2000 cubic metre tank.  

From here, all the collected sewage is pumped up to the Uplyme Sewage Treatment Works to be processed and then fed out to sea at the North Cardinal buoy. 

We were given a really informative tour and plenty of questions were asked!

Any unanswered will be followed up.
